Charlotte “Char” Ann Elling, age 78, of Benedict, MN, peacefully went to be with our Lord and Savior on August 11, 2017 with her loving children by her side.  Char was born on October 8, 1938 in Chokio, MN the daughter of Kenneth and Pauline (Leulthard) Tibbetts. 

Char met her husband James in 1955 in Atkin, MN where they fell in love singing and dancing.  The two remained together for sixty years and raised five beautiful children together.  Char worked as a home health aide for many years and was a choir director at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Duluth, MN.  She loved music, being in the outdoors and playing smear with her family and she was the “Queen of Scrabble”.  The most important to her were her family who she loved with all her heart.  Char will be missed deeply by many.

The family that she joins again are her parents; Kenneth and Pauline, and the love of her life; husband James Elling.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her children; Anita Pleshe of Walker, James Elling of Duluth, Polly Myrum of Pengilly, Camilla Bailey of Pengilly and Jason Elling of Walker.  Several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A private family service will be held in her honor.
