Eugene S. Richardson, “Mush Ke Que Ne Ne” which means “Medicine Boy”, age 82, of Red Lake, Minnesota, originally of Sugar Point, MN passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Jourdain-Perpich Extended Care Facility in Red Lake, MN.  He was born on February 5, 1935 in Walker, MN to John and Lucy (Johnson) Richardson.

After his schooling at Pipestone School, Eugene spent many years traveling the country via the railroad.  He would take time to go visit his family at Sugar Point as often as he could.  Eugene’s family would like to thank the Nursing Staff at Jourdain-Perpich Extended Care Facility and the Leech Lake Reservation for their constant care of Eugene over the last few years.

Eugene is reunited with his parents; John and Lucy Richardson, sisters; Frances Mathison, Josephine Hudgkins, Geraldine Shofner, Dora Richardson and Anna Geluk, and brothers; Louis and Clarence Richardson.

He is survived by his daughter; Winona Richardson of Bena, grandchildren; Randal and Alea Richardson, sister; Ramona Benton of Schurz, NV, niece; Frances Bauer of Moline, IL and several other relatives.

Funeral services for Eugene will begin at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Sugar Point Community Center in Federal Dam, MN.  Pallbearers for Eugene are Randall Richardson and Alex Bauer.  Interment will be in the Battle Point Cemetery at Federal Dam, MN following his Wednesday services.
