Lori Mabel Christianson (Barsness), Amik-ikwe “Beaver Woman”, of the Bear Clan, age 59, began her spiritual journey on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital.  She was born in Hibbing, MN on April 27th, 1958 the daughter of Vernon Barsness, Sr. and Dona Mae Wilson.

Lori was a very sweet natured person who was very sentimental.  Her heart was easily touched.  She was a favorite auntie amongst her nieces, nephews and even her grandnephews .  Lori was the fun auntie who was also very proud of her own children.  She had a strong spiritual belief and always felt that her family was very important too.  As much as she loved her family, her family loved and watched out for her.  Lori loved cooking, baking, gardening and animals of all kinds.  She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

The family that Lori joins again are her parents; Vernon and Dona, and one brother; James Guernsey.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her son; Jesse (Stephanie) Wiley of Big Lake, daughters; Angela (Matt) Wiley-Dolecki of Big Lake, and Erin Christianson of Minneapolis, sisters; Lenore Barsness of Cass Lake, and Mary Guernsey of Mora, brother; Vernon (Linda) Barsness, Jr. of Cass Lake, grandchildren; Alexis Lockwood, Maci Dolecki, Paisyn Wiley and Halle Wiley.

A wake for Lori will begin at 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 15, 2017 and will continue until the 10:00 a.m. service on Saturday, December 16 all held at the Mission Community Center in Cass Lake.  Spiritual advisor will be Allen Hardy.  Pallbearers for Lori will be Nicholas Stauffenecker, Zachery Barsness, Matt Dolecki, Javon-Taye Rodgers, Jadyn Titoe and Rory Snetsinger.  Interment will be held in the Mokahum Cemetery in Cass Lake following the service.

Lori’s care has been entrusted to the Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker, MN.  Online condolences for the family may be given at www.northernpeace.com
