Maria Faye Brown

Maria Faye Brown, 33 years young, of Nay-Tah-Waush, Minnesota, began her journey to the spirit world unexpectedly on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from her home.  She was born on June 23, 1984 in Detroit Lakes, MN the daughter of Kevin Brown and Kathleen (Bunker) Kier.

Maria was a beautiful and selfless young woman with a huge, loving and giving heart.  She was always the first person to offer her help to anyone who needed it and never expected anything in return for it.  She liked to watch MMA fights and boxing.  Maria enjoyed cooking and cleaning, liked cruising around and listening to music.  Her favorite thing was being with her children, her special aunt Rose Alvarado and the rest of her family. 

Family welcoming Maria to the spirit world are her mother; Kathy Kier, brothers; Richard Bunker and Wade Kier, sister; Angel Brown, grandmother; Ruth “Toots” Kier, grandfather; Glenn Bunker, several aunties, uncles and cousins.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her children; Alayna and Adrian, father; Kevin Brown, sisters; Gloria Hanks and Brandy Brown, brothers; Kevin Kier, Troy and Shawn Brown, grandmother; Phyllis Bunker, We’eh – Susie Ballot, father of her children; Stephen Stevens, many other relatives and friends.

An overnight wake for Maria will begin at 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 16th and continue until her 11:00 a.m. traditional service on Saturday, February 17th all being held at the White Earth Community Complex in Nay-Tah-Waush, MN.  Michael Dahl will be her Spiritual Advisor.  Helping to lay Maria to rest are her cousins Derrick Alvarado, Michael Bunker, Darrell Alvarado, Joe Olsen, Andy Olsen and Emil Hanks.  Her honorary pallbearers are Yolanda Thompson, Daniel Folstrom, Katie Bunker, Shona Hanks, Jesse Alvarado, Brandon McArthur, Travis Thompson, Chad Burnette, Cheyenne Bunker, Renee Tibbetts and Ashley Bunker.  Interment will be in the Samuel Memorial Episcopal Cemetery at Nay-Tah-Waush, MN following her Saturday services.
