Raymond Jon Kraskey, 19 years young, “Misko-Waagosh” which means “Red Fox” of Walker, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from Walker, MN.  Raymond was born in Bemidji, MN on July 16, 1998 the son of Candice Jackson-Whitebird and Jeremee Kraskey.

Raymond spent his childhood growing up in Onigum, Walker and Cass Lake.  Raymond was a very funny, strong, caring and thoughtful young man who loved to joke around and tease everyone.  He was a very hard worker and actually enjoyed his work.  Raymond liked to prioritize his many goals for the future.  He was very smart and worked hard at trying to graduate from high school, and he almost made it.  Raymond liked hanging out with all of his friends and all his friendship circles, he also like to play basketball and football.  He enjoyed beating his friends at video games.  His friends always talked about how good he was at video games and were amazed that they could never beat him.  He had great love for his family and touched a lot of peoples heart in his short life.  Raymond left us far too soon and we will miss him dearly.

Family that welcome Raymond to the spirit world are his father; Jeremee Kraskey, grandma; Lillian Reese, grandpa; Tim St. John, Baba; Cubby Smith, uncles; Bill Major, Ron Staples and Rich Tanner, cousin; Lynette McDonald, friend; Joseph Shepherd and other relatives.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his mother; Candice Jackson-Whitebird of Walker, brothers; Vincent Ruschmeier of Federal Dam, Jaxon and Kingsly Whitebird both of Cass Lake, sisters; Taneisha Kraskey and Tia Jackson both of Walker, Acacia Ruschmeier of Federal Dam and Savannah Red Thunder of Aberdeen, SD, grandmas; Patty Jackson and Crystal Estey, many aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.

A wake for Raymond will begin at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 23rd and continue until his 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Monday, September 25th all being held in the Onigum Room at the Northern Lights Casino and Event Center in Walker, MN.  Mike Smith will be his Spiritual Advisor.  Pallbearers for Raymond will be Thomas Jackson, Justin Nordmarken, Andretti Bushey, Nick Reese, Randon Reese and Travis Wilson.  Alternate pallbearers are Norman Goggleye and Damian Smith.  His honorary pallbearers are Candice Jackson, Patty Jackson, Crystal Estey, Taneisha Kraskey, Tia Jackson, Trisha Jackson, Jordan Johnson, Darien Smith, Jolene Smith, Jaxon Whitebird, Kingsly Whitebird, Skyleigh Kraskey and Jacian Kraskey.  At the request of Raymond’s family, his cremated remains will remain with his family.
