Annette Cloud Obituary

Annette “Squashy” Cloud, Basatinaa Ikwe” meaning “Woman of the Valley,” age 70, of the Pine Martin Clan and Cass Lake, MN, received her final wish of making her journey to the spirit world from home, surrounded by loving family members, Amie, Jen, Charlie, Nettie, Georgie, and Corey, on Thursday, March 28th, 2024. She was born on June 20th, 1953, the daughter of Mary (Burnette) and John Cloud in Cass Lake.

Annette enjoyed playing bingo and slots, watching her “Soaps” on tv, going to pow wows, solving puzzle books and crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and being at home. Annette looked forward to her daily conversations with Jan and talking on the phone. She liked driving her side by side that she won from Cedar Lakes. She always had time for her drinkin’ buddies, cruisin’ backroads, and listening to “Willy’s Roadhouse.” Annette will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those greeting Annette in the spirit world are her parents, Mary and John; special son, Steve Whitefeather; brother, Allen Cloud; infant twin siblings; sister-in-law, Josie Whitefeather; niece, Traci Cloud; numerous uncles; good friend, Rosie Reed; and her cockatiel, Roy.

Family that Annette leaves behind to forever cherish her loving memory are sons, Elliot Whipple, Aaron “BJ” Jones, James “Pudge” Jones, James Jones, Jr.; special son, Tim Whitefeather; daughters, Jen Cloud, Amie Cloud, September “Seppy” Jones; special daughter, Natasha Smith; brother, Spencer Whitefeather; sisters, Alice, Amanda, and Anita Cloud; close nephews, Stevie Frazer, Jr., Brock Frazer, Pete Cloud, Seneca Whitefeather, Eric Whitefeather; nieces, Victoria Whitefeather, Crystal Cloud; close grandchildren, Kayl, Aaron Jr., LaKota, Charlie, LaNette, BrooklynStar, Mariana, Ogichidaa “Itchy”, Georgie, Raelynn; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Phoenix “Baby Chimook”, WaaSeyaa, and Seven; and dog, Blackie.

A two-night wake for Annette will begin on Sunday, March 31st, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. and continue until her traditional service on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, all to be held at the Prescott Center in Cass Lake, MN. Annette’s Spiritual Advisor is Mike Dahl. Those helping to lay Annette to rest are Stevie Frazer, Jr., Brock Frazer, Timmy Whitefeather, Spencer Whitefeather, Seneca Whitefeather, and James Jones, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Jan Cloud, Verna Lucio, Archie LaRose, Mindy Jones, Sugah Shane Burnette, Terry Burnette, Sharyl Washington, LCPL Aaron Jones, DaVita Staff, Sanford ICU and 3rd Floor Staff. Interment will be in the Cloud Family Cemetery, Oak Point RD, Cass Lake.
