Donna Lee Wilcox

Donna Lee Wilcox, 91, of Park Rapids, Minnesota, died peacefully at Edgewood May Creek, in Walker, Minnesota, on April 13, 2024.

She was born August 11, 1932, in Colton, South Dakota, to Herman (Clarence) and Guri Dalen.  They moved to Solway when she was a young child, and she attended elementary school there. As a young teenager, she moved to Bemidji to attend high school and lived with various families working as a nanny.  When she was a senior, she was asked to begin work in the school office.  Through mutual friends, she met her future husband, Russell Wilcox.  They married in December of 1952, and we married for 56 years.  She worked at various places before working at the State Bank for many years.  She retired a final time in 2002.  She was a member of the Riverside Methodist Church.  She was always active with running and bicycling and, in her later years, walking right up until she fell and broke her hip at age 90.

She is survived by her three sons, James (Colleen) of Park Rapids, Scott (Sherry) of Kabekona, and Trent of Park Rapids, and a sister, Darlen, of Woodbury, MN, four grandchildren, Daniel, David (Nicole), Allisa, and Riley, and five great-grandchildren, Clay, Isabella, Tell, Kaylin, and Alexander.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Russell, in 2009, her parents, her older sister (Eunice Graser), and her older brother (Eugen Dalen).

Per Donna’s request, no services will be held.
