Ardith Morrow, age 69, of Onamia, MN, began her spiritual journey on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls. MN.
Ardith, Ojibwe name meaning Mystic Warrior Woman, was born on May 21, 1949, in Boy River, MN, the daughter of the late Arthur Morrow, Sr., and Mary Mitchell. She was raised in Utah and went to Brigham Young University and the Tribal College in Cass Lake, MN. She moved back to Minnesota in her mid-30s and lived in various places between Cass Lake and Mille Lacs. She worked for the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe, starting off as a secretary and all the way to director. In her free time, she enjoyed beadwork, to be on her computer playing Facebook games, power walking, and most of all spending time with her family.
Ardith is survived by her children, Sheena (Mike Donell) Morrow, Dan Morrow, Cynthia Guernsey, and special daughters, Norbis and Lizzy; brothers, George Rea and John Morrow; sisters, Jane Bruce, Elaine Rea, Maria Rea, Tracy Morrow, Robert Morrow, Jackie Morrow, Victoria Reich, and Marlene Poukka; grandchildren, Joseph Nadeau, Cherelle Brown, Elizabeth Brown, Kyle Brown, Shae’lin Clark, and Natayah Watson; and great-grandchildren, Kyle Brown, Jr., and Caelyn Hardy; as well as many more extended family members and friends.
Waiting to greet her are her parents, Arthur and Mary; and brothers, Arthur Morrow, Jr., Clifton Morrow, Richard Kaiser, and Timothy Foreman; as well as many many more extended family members.
The wake for Ardith will begin at 8pm on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 6332 156th St NW, Cass Lake, MN 56633, and will conclude at 10am on Friday, June 22, 2018, with a traditional Native American funeral service. The spiritual adviser will be Adrian Liberty and burial will follow at the Boy River Cemetery. Pall bearers will be George Rea, Joe Nadeau, Joseph Nadeau, Kyle Brown, Devin Hardy, Ethan Hardy, and Dan Morrow. Honorary pall bearers will be Mike Donell, Cynthia Guernsey, Sheena Morrow, Cherelle Brown, Beth Brown, Marlene Poukka, Vickie Reich, and Elaine Rea.
Ardith’s care has been entrusted to Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker.
