Barbara Marie (Lussier) Brown

Barbara Marie (Lussier) Brown, 90, of Red Lake, Minnesota went home on Friday, September 7, 2018 from the Jourdain-Perpich Nursing Home in Red Lake, MN.  She was born to Jane (Smith) and Charles Lussier on April 8, 1928 in Red Lake, MN.

Barbara was a very quiet and independent person who enjoyed keeping herself busy at home.  She was the most thoughtful person, always kind to everyone, who helped in any way she could.  Barbara not only raised five of her own children but two of her grandbabies as well.  She loved being surrounded by her family and grandchildren as often as possible.  Barbara was a very good seamstress and upholsterer who enjoyed gardening and canning.  She was an excellent cook who enjoyed feeding everyone, she always had an open chair at her table.  Barbara loved her country music and she liked doing cross word puzzles in her spare time.  She did everything…except drive.

Barbara is reunited with her parents; Jane and Charles Lussier, husband; Lawrence Brown, first husband; Herman English, Sr., children; Herman English, Jr., Lee English, Sr. and Bonnie English, brothers; Clayton and Doug Lussier, sister; Joann Head, grandchildren; Robert McKee and Janelle Oakgrove, several more relatives and friends.

She leaves behind her son; Douglas English, Sr. of Red Lake, daughter; Sandra (Norman) McKee of North Branch, sisters; Betty Parkhurst, Eleanor Smith, Audrey Lussier and Beverly Andree, brother; Ron Lussier, 19 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

A wake for Barbara will begin at 4:30 p.m., Friday, September 14th and continue until her 12:00 p.m., funeral service on Sunday, September 16th all being held at the Old Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake, MN.  Family and friends to meet at the 7 Clans Casino reservation line on Hwy 89 at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14th.  Father George Ross will officiate.  Pallbearers for Barbara will be Doug English, Jr., Josh Jones, Lee English, Jr., Nick English, Ron White and Jason Head.  Alternate pallbearers are George Head, Gary Head, Rodney Beaulieu and Ron Cobenais, Sr.  Her honorary pallbearers are Marsha English, Betty Parkhurst, Beverly Andree, Audrey Lussier, Eleanor Smith, Carol English-Hunt, Phyllis Sumner, Rose Barrett, Jeanna Pierce, Jo Beth English, Bonnie English, Yvonne English, Tim English, Jim White and Delores English.  At the wishes of Barbara, her cremains will remain with her family.
