Betsy Rock-Haas Obituary

Betsy Jo Rock-Haas, age 55, “Makoons” which means “Little Bear” of Bemidji, Minnesota and the Wolf Clan began her journey to the spirit world on Thursday, November 14th, 2019 from the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.  Betsy was born on April 21, 1964 in Park Rapids, MN, one of 11 children born to Geraldine (Stone) and Bernard Rock, Sr.

Betsy was known for her smile.  Betsy spent a number of years in Spokane, WA and other towns and cities before settling down in Cass Lake.  In 2001, Judge Haas married Betsy and Dennis Haas.  She worked for many years as the Hotel Manager at the Palace Casino and Hotel.  When she wasn’t working Betsy enjoyed shopping, R&B, blues and rock and roll music, and watching crime stories, UFO and ghost TV programs.  She loved apples and Mexican food.  Betsy was an auntie mom to her nephew Freamon and godmother to his two sons Monk and Shorty.  You could always find her laughing and joking around with people, but her family was very important to her.

Family that welcome her to the spirit world are her parents, Geraldine and Bernard Sr.; older sister, Beryl Rock; nephews, Ronald Long, Jr. and Roland Skinaway; her grandparents and several more family members.

She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Dennis Haas of Bemidji; her siblings, Jolene (Thomas) Ajootian of Mahnomen, Bonnie Rock of Cass Lake, Bernard Rock, Jr. of Cass Lake, Jacqueline Peltier of Cass Lake, Byron (Lori) Rock of Fort Duchesne, UT, Bryan (Denise) Rock of Cass Lake, Brenda (Joe) Burris of Minneapolis, Berton Rock of AZ and Dana (Clay) Crawford of Cass Lake; step-daughters, Tahnee and Tashina Haas; step-son, Dennis J.
