Donald “Donnie Frog” Gene Silverstar, Jr., 32, “Giiwedin-noodin” which means “Northern Wind” of Redby, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Red Lake, MN.  He was born on December 14, 1984 in Minneapolis, MN to Patricia Prentice and Donald Silverstar, Sr.

Donnie Frog was a happy young man who loved to laugh and was always smiling.  He loved going for walks and rides.  He enjoyed having company over and would light up when he heard voices coming in.  Donnie Frog loved to tease and flirt and would give kisses.  He was a lover of all music, but he especially liked Hip Hop and Rap.  We will miss your smiley face Donnie Frog.

Family that Donnie Frog is reunited with are his parents; Patricia and Donald Sr., many siblings, best friends; Jason and Cheyenne "Big Vato" Lussier, grandparents; Marian and Paul Prentice, several aunties, uncles and cousins.

He is survived by his sister; Alaina (Phillip "Big Phill" Lussier) Prentice of Redby, aunties; Barbara Westbrook, Della Prentice and Debbie Gorez, nephews; Anthony Phillip Lussier and Jonah HisGun, nieces; Bridgette Lussier and Sharon Lussier, numerous cousins and many friends.

A wake for Donnie Frog will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the New Redby Community Center in Redby, MN and will continue there until his 10:00 a.m. funeral services on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Red Lake, MN.  Father Jerry Rogers will officiate.  Helping to lay Donnie Frog to rest are Charles Prentice, Jr., Chad Prentice, Robert White, Phillip Lussier, Anthony Phillip Lussier and Juels Fairbanks, Jr.  Alternate pallbearers are Michael Stately and Jacob Deegan.  His honorary pallbearers are Jon Prentice, Misty Charnoski, Renae White, Judy Roy, Lynette Tyler, Joey Lussier, Two Bears Williams, Vern Loc, Lou Deegan, Rena Hanks, Shirley McNeal, Ang Charnoski and Debbie Gorez.  Inurnment will in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church at a later date.
