Eugene “Joe Balls” Joseph Sayers III, age 52, of Red Lake, Minnesota journeyed to the spirit world on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, MN.  He was born in Red Lake, MN on July 20, 1965, the son of Mary Mae and Eugene “Slug” Sayers, Jr.

He was employed at the Circle of Life as a personal care attendant.  Eugene liked spending time with his family and his great nephew Paxton Fastwolf.  He enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, going to powwows and making everyone laugh with his sense of humor whenever he could.  He will be missed by his family and friends.

The family that Eugene joins are his parents; Mary and Eugene Sayers, Jr. brother; Patrick Gene Sayers, grandparents; Mary J. and Eugene Sayers, Sr. and Elizabeth and Patrick Jourdain and other relatives.

Eugene leaves behind his partner; Lanae Pearson, his children; Eugene J. Sayers IV, Keveon Sayers, John Zachary Sayers, Devon Sayers, sisters; Ramona (Clarence) Sayers, Lisa (Earl) Sayers and Lori L. Sayers, one grandson; Grayson Stillday, special daughter; Autumn Stillday, numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.

A wake for Eugene will begin at 4:00 p.m., Friday, October 27th and continue until his 11:00 a.m. service on Monday, October 30th all being held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, MN.  Father Jerry Rogers will officiate.  Pallbearers for Eugene will be Robert “Bob” Cloud, Henry F. Sayers, Jr., Christian W. Lussier, Reginald E. Lussier, Brandon E. Sayers and Keveon Sayers.  Alternate pallbearers are Devon R. Sayers and Chris May.  His honorary pallbearers are Eugene J. Sayers IV, John Zachary Sayers, Greg Good, Dave Skinaway, Sam Hill, Lynette Sumner-Hill, Kathleen Johns, Valerie May, Sam Roy, Clarence E. Clark, Eugene “Jeep” White, Charles “Chip” May, Rita Weise and Vickie Neadeau.  Interment will be in the Sayers Family Residence at Red Lake, MN following his Monday service.
