Geraldine Ann Durkot

Geraldine Ann Durkot, age 74, of Hackensack, MN, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Birchview Gardens Health Care.  She was born on May 15, 1944 in North Minneapolis, the daughter of Lynn and Ann (Seibert) Bowman.

Geri looked forward to gardening every year and celebrating her favorite holidays which were Christmas and Halloween.  She loved to horseback ride and spent a lot of time riding the trails with her sister Sandy.  One of her many favorite pastimes was going out and dancing.  Geri enjoyed crafting and painting.  She also cherished the time that she had with her grandchildren.  Geri became a member of the Hackensack Auxiliary in 2012 after returning to the area.  She will be missed by all her family and friends.

The family that Geri joins again are her parents, Lynn and Ann Bowman; her husband, Dick Durkot; brother, James Bowman; and one sister, Barbara Woznak and her children.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kimberly (Timothy) Turner of Hackensack; and Tracey Colby of Forest Lake, MN; sister, Sandra Carlson of Princeton, MN; grandchildren, Michael Anderson, Cassandra Byers, Matthew Anderson, Layne Turner, Abbie Turner and Timothy J. Turner; great grandchildren, Carter and Connor Byers, Violet Turner, Hunter Ford and Savannah Ford.

A celebration of Geri’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2018 with visitation one hour prior to the service all held at the Northern Peace Funeral Home in Walker, MN.  Pastor Lynn Strandt will officiate.  At her request, Geri’s cremains will remain with her family.
