Gloria Marie Headbird-Wind, 66 years young, Bear Clan, journeyed into the spirit world from the Sanford Hospital, Bemidji, Minnesota on Friday, November 17, 2017.  Gloria was born in Cass Lake, Minnesota on December 12, 1950 to Leonard and Catherine (Bellcourt) Headbird.

Gloria enjoyed spending time with her family, brothers, grandkids and sons. She enjoyed making blankets, playing Keno, going to rummage and garage sales, watching “Let’s Make a Deal,” listening to her boys play guitar and giving her children perms whether they wanted them or not.  She was a good cook and loved to have family over for Sunday breakfasts.  She will be dearly missed.

Family that Gloria meets again are her husband; Dean Wind, son; Leslie “Gooman” Headbird, parents; Leonard and Catherine Headbird, brothers; Chuck and Gabby Headbird and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Those she leaves behind are her sons Rodney (Michelle) Headbird-Wind Sr. and Leonard Headbird, daughter; Kristi Wind, brothers; Leonard and Donald Headbird, grandsons; Rodney Jr., Ryan, Dakota, Les Jr., Gage, Ricky, Cliff Jr. and Dominic, granddaughters; Shaunice, Shanielle, Shawntae, Karley, Tierra, Raven, Adina, Amber, Trina, Carlina, Paige, Destiny and Desirae, great grand kids; Tyius, Raymond Jr., Kendrick, Jaymison, Nisiah, Kaliana, Dean and Quentin, niece; Gloria, nephews; Gordy and Robert.

A wake for Gloria will begin at 4:00 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Mission Community Center in Cass Lake, MN and will continue there until her 11:00 a.m. funeral on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.  Melvin Goodman and Jess Headbird will be her spiritual advisors.  Active pallbearers are Joe Fairbanks, Ivan Wind, Donahue Wittner, DJ Headbird, Donald Headbird and Jacob Headbird, Chuck Headbird and Thomas (Hoss) Headbird. Alternate pallbearers are Damien Kingbird, Ed Fisher and Alex Ducheneaux.  Honorary pallbearers are all her family and friends.  Interment in Prince of Peace Cemetery at Cass Lake/Mission, MN following her Wednesday service.
