Henry "Hank" Francis Cook

Henry “Hank” Francis Cook, age 86, of Red Lake, Minnesota was surrounded by his family in his passing at Jourdain Perpich Extended Care Center in Red Lake, MN on Friday, March 29, 2019.  He was born the son of Ida (Sayers) and Teddy Cook on October 11, 1932 in Red Lake, MN.

Hank married Anna Auginash and together they had seven children.  In 1951, he joined the United States Navy where he spent the next four years, before being honorably discharged.  After his military service, Hank worked many different jobs.  He worked for the Redby Sawmill, as a transportation driver, for the Red Lake Forestry, as a custodian for the Red Lake Schools and for Red Lake Gaming.  Hank had a great sense of humor and loved teasing his nephews every chance he could.  He enjoyed going to powwows and to the casino in his spare time.  Hank will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family that Hank is reunited with are his parents; Ida and Teddy, daughters; Diane Cook and Carla Brun, siblings; Billy, Donald, Vi, Ina Mae, Amelia, Roberta and Barbara, grandchildren; Anthony Hegstrom, Darren Cook, Sr., JolieAna Cobenais, Chrissa Neadeau, Karson Neadeau and Marilee Brun, niece; Mushy Spears, nephews; Donnie Cook, Jr. and Joey Pelchat, other family members and friends.

He leaves behind his children; Wendell, Richard (Mary Ann), Duane (Polly), Sharon, Kevin and Donna Cook, sisters; Elaine (Doc) Blanchard, Mary Ellen (Cook) Stillday and Sammi Jo Braddock, brother; Fabian Cook, 31 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren and many more relatives.

A wake for Hank will begin at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 2nd and continue until his 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Thursday, April 4th all to be held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, MN.  Father Jerry Rogers will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Troy Cook, Avery Kingbird, Shane Garrigan, Kyle Garrigan, Sr., Devin Neadeau, Sr., Duane Cook, Jr., Selam Spears, Daniel Brun, Daniel Cook, Sr., Stan Cook, Tyrone Schoenborn, Sr., Kevin Cook, Jr., Craig Cook, Clayton Cook, Sr., Harlan McNeal, Bill McNeal, Fred Donnell, Keith Donnell, Earl Donnell, Fabian Crowe, Brian Crowe, Mike Crowe, Teddi Crowe, Eddy Fairbanks, Sr., Rod Spears, Jr., Wayne Fisher, Jr., Cody Cook, Dylan Cook, Verdell Cook and Sheldon Cook, Sr.  His honorary pallbearers are Chunky Brun, Iggy Sayers, Fabian Sayers, Sr., Ducker Stately, Gerald Auginash, Donovan English, Cindy Pemberton, Eric Nelson, Rob Pemberton, Sr., Deanna Pemberton, Eva Kingbird, Austin Head, Jan Head, Verlin Kingbird, Sr., Justin Auginash, Sr., Rocky Cook, Lee Cook, Mike Branchaud, Ethel Branchaud, Chele Johnson, Melissa Perkins-Kingbird, Sharon Jones, Rosie Bee Barrett, Ed Jones, Chelsey Redbear, Holly Oakgrove, Tara Brun, Mari Day, Mari Cobenais, Karen White, Vinny White, Sr., Mary Ann Cook, Darilyn Cook, Becky Cook-McGraw, Lola Hegstrom, Kristen Hegstrom, Deawndra Roberts and Leawndra Roberts.  Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake, MN.
