Herb was an awesome husband, father, son, brother and friend to many.  He was a great artist and many of his art pieces are with his family and in tribal establishments.  Herb was a champion singer and loved the drum.  He was a mentor to many and composed many songs.  As a member of the world class singing champions, the White Fish Bay Singers, Herb was able to travel all over the U.S. and Canada.  He also sang with other championship groups throughout his powwow singing career.  Back home in Red Lake, when called upon to sing for others on their journey, Herb was always there promptly.  He had many talents.  Herb loved to draw, paint, burn wood, make drums and sticks.  He enjoyed teaching others new talents and spreading his knowledge.  He was a well humored man, who enjoyed joking with anyone and everyone.
