Holly Jean (Gale) Rabbitt, age 50, of Walker and formerly of Boy River and Inger, began her spiritual journey on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center of Northern Minnesota, Bemidji, surrounded by her loving family.
Holly’s time on this earth began March 25, 1969 in Cass Lake, the daughter of Council Gale and Francis Sayers. She completed her education at Walker School and went on to get her Associate’s degree at the Leech Lake Tribal College, majoring in criminal justice. For many years, she worked in security at Northern Lights Casino.
Holly will be most remembered for her time at pow wows, her many friendships, and for raising her grandson, Izaiah Corr, since infancy. He was her special son. The donation of her corneas to the Lion’s Gift of Sight will mean clear vision for another and part of her will remain to help others.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Onigum Community Center at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2019. A visitation will be held one-hour prior. Father Matthew Cobb and Deacon Bill Butcher will officiate. Her honorary urn bearers are all her family and friends.
Those welcoming her on her journey include her parents, her husband Steven Rabbitt, Sr., her brother Harlan Gale and several aunts and uncles.
Those left with happy memories are, sons Joseph and LeRoy Gale of Walker, stepsons Steven Rabbitt Jr., Jared Rabbitt and Tyler Rabbitt, all of Inger, daughter Jade Gale of Minneapolis, step-daughters Brianna, Jessie, Endonnis, and Dana Rabbitt, all of Inger, brother Ernest Gale of Bemidji, and mother-in-law Leona Wakanabo of Inger. She will be warmly remembered by grandchildren Deondre Gale of Walker, Izaiah Corr of Bemidji, LeRoy Gale, Jr. of Walker, Jayvon Gale of Minneapolis, Ralph Golden, Jr. of Minneapolis, Cecilia and Layla Gale, of Walker and Frieda Gale of Bemidji; and her aunt, Mary LaDeaux, as well as her special sisters/cousins, Teresa Solis and Antoinette Wright and brother cousin, Tony LeDeaux, Jr.
