James (Jim) Chmielewski

September 12, 1937 – September 18, 2018

I have no idea why God loves me so much – so much that He let me spend 56 years with my best friend. So much that He let me enjoy three wonderful children, their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren. So much that He blessed me with hundreds of friends to love and treasure. And so much that He allowed me to have three great careers.

And now, near the end, He has given me the time to spend with all of them, to remember the good times, and to think about the wonderful, magical next part of my life.

My life is full of thanks to Him and to all of you. I am at peace.

Per Jim’s wishes, a small, private service will be held for immediate family only. The family looks forward to extended family and friends coming to celebrate Jim next year at the Celebration of Life.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be considered for a memorial bench to be placed near the fishing dock in Hackensack. Donations can be sent to the “Jim Chmielewski Memorial Bench Fund” at First National Bank North, 200 MN-371, Hackensack, MN 56452.
