Jason Lewis Brown

Jason Lewis Brown, age 38, of Cass Lake, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on Monday, March 12, 2018 from the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN.  He was born to Deborah Brown and Burnham Wilson on May 12, 1979 in Minneapolis, MN.

Jason enjoyed dancing and singing at pow-wows and listening to pow-wow music.  He loved spending time with his mother, his brothers and his friends, but he especially loved being with his children Memphis and Khole.  Jason liked to watch all sports, but basketball was his favorite.  He enjoyed being on Facebook and playing games on his phone.  Jason attended and graduated from Leech Lake Tribal College with a Certificate of Carpentry.

Jason is laid to rest with his father; Burnham Wilson, daughter; Baby Girl Ogema, sister; Barbara “Pumpkin” Drouillard, special friend; Miranda Ogema, niece; Vina Rose Brown and other several other relatives and friends.

Those he leaves behind are his mother; Deborah Brown of Cass Lake, children; Memphis and Khole Brown, brothers; Joseph Brown, his twin brother James (Ashley) Brown, Sr. and Burnham (Ramanda) Drouillard all of Cass Lake, sisters; Marilyn “JoJo” Staples, Louella “Anna” (Zack) Drouillard, Brenda Littlewolf and Ashley Brown all of Cass Lake, special aunt; “Brenda “Binky” Smith, special niece; Shawntae Brown, special nephews; James Jr and Jakobe Brown, numerous aunties, uncles, other nieces, nephews and many friends.

A wake for Jason will begin at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15th and continue until his funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 17th all being held at the Facility Center in Cass Lake, MN.  Pallbearers for Jason are Clayton Slack, Art Jones, Andy Jones, Alex Deucheneux, Jeff Brown, Ben White, Sr., Veronica Ogema and Victoria Ogema.  His honorary pallbearers are Dennis Brown, Sr., Louella Drouillard, Joseph Brown, James “Jim” Brown, Sr., Burnham “Dauser” Drouillard, Ashley M. Brown, Marilyn “JoJo” Staples, David “Day-Day” Staples, Allene “Lupi” Harrison, Memphis Brown James Brown, Jr., Jakobe Brown, John “Crow” Smith, Shawn Smith and the rest of his family.  Interment will be in the Prince of Peace Cemetery at Cass Lake, MN following his Saturday service.
