Joel Roger Brown

Joel Roger Brown, age 55, of Northfield, MN passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the cabin in Whipholt.  He was born on January 15, 1963 in Park Rapids, MN the son of Edwin and Doris (Emery) Brown. 

Joel grew up in Whipholt.  He attended Walker Highschool where he had a love for wrestling.  Joel graduated school in 1981 and went to a vocational school where he learned cabinetry.  He found work in southern Minnesota following his training.  He met the love of his life, Sandy and the two had never been so happy.  They lived in Northfield and would vacation at the cabin in Whipholt every chance they could.  Joel was an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and trap shooting.  One of his favorite things to do in life was sit around a nice campfire and drink a Coors Lite.  Anyone who knew Joel, knew he was a very patient man, unless politics were brought up.  Joel was a person that would help anyone and give the shirt off his back if needed.  He always put others before himself and was a very patient teacher.  He loved his son Adrian, his puppies and being at the cabin.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are the love of his life; Sandra Dockstader of Northfield, MN, son; Adrian Brown of the Minneapolis area, brothers; Terry Brown of Anoka, MN, and Mike Brown of Brainerd, MN, one sister; Shelly (Arne) Knowles of Whipholt, other relatives and many friends. 

A celebration of Joel’s life will be held in Whipolt on August 18, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m..  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.  Please send to S. Dockstader 1809 Estate Lane, Northfield, MN 55057.
