Margaret "Kathy" Kathleen (Peters) Benedix

Margaret “Kathy” Benedix, age 75, of Laporte, Minnesota passed away at her home on June 18th, 2019 with her family by her side.  She was born on June 10th, 1944 in Lake City, MN, Wabasha County to Adolph and Margaret (Sprick) Peters.

Kathy married Gerald “Jerry” Benedix on July 19, 1985 in Louisiana.  They resided in Red Wing and were foster parents for many years.  She also managed the Cooperidge Apartments as well as other various jobs throughout her life.  Kathy and Jerry retired to Laporte, MN so she could be closer to her grandchildren.  She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Laporte.

Family that Kathy is reunited with are her parents; Margaret and Adolph Peters and two brothers.

She leaves behind her husband; Jerry Benedix of Laporte, four children; Brenda (Jeff) Holland of Laporte, John Miller of Laporte, Michele (Cy) Ross of Clarksville, TN and Chris Miller of Red Wing, eight grandchildren and two great granddaughters.

A memorial service for Kathy will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22nd, 2019 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Laporte, MN.  A one hour visitation will held prior to services at the church.  Pastor Dave Smith will officiate.  Urnbearers for Kathy are her grandchildren Chelsea Krusmark, Anthony Ross, Justin Miller, Chase Holland, Zachary Ross, Jared Miller, Courtney Holland and Lindsey Miller.  Her honorary urnbearers are her great granddaughters Naomi and Ensley Krusmark.  A private inurnment will be in the Lakeport Cemetery at Laporte, MN.
