Melissa Ann Lussier, age 48, of Mankato, Minnesota journeyed to the spirit world on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 from St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN. She was the daughter of Miriam and Leland Lussier, Sr. and was born in Red Lake, MN on July 9th, 1970.
Melissa was a light-hearted person who enjoyed laughing and joking around with friends and family. She made a living working at the casino and the Red Lake Convenience Store as a cook. Melissa had a passion for cooking and listening to music, she was a huge Michael Jackson and Harry Potter fan. She loved fishing and hanging out at the beach with her kids and grandkids.
Family that Melissa has reunited with are her parents; Miriam and Leland Lussier, Sr., grandson; Baby Nei, several aunties, uncles and other relatives.
She leaves behind her children; Robin (Rosemary) Anderson, Sr. of Red Lake, Damian, Joshua and Jacob Anderson all of Mankato, and Shantell (Frank) Nei of Mankato, her brother; Leland Lussier, Jr., grandchildren; Kaylee, Kelsey, Bradley, Zoe, Robin Jr., Danny, Lilly and one on the way, one great grandbaby; Yasmine, seven nieces and nephews, many more family members and friends.
A wake for Melissa will begin at 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 8th and continue until her 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, July 10th all to be held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, MN. Father John Christianson will officiate. Helping to lay Melissa to rest are Sean Lussier, Sr., Leland Lussier III, Robin Lussier, Jr., Justin Johnson, Damian Anderson, Derell Neadeau, Todd Smith, Randy Johnson, Charles Smith, Jr., Mike Barrett, Sr., Jack Johnson and Rod Prentice, Jr. Her honorary pallbearers are Charlene Siddens, Tammy Lussier, Shauna Lussier, Charmaine Sayers, Willa Lussier, Anita Lussier, Leah Defoe, Connie Defoe, Angie Defoe, Jasmine Smith, Marlys Grafal, Elizabeth Hegstrom, Deanne Tonsager, Patsy Johnson, Trina Johnson, Ellie Johnson, Wyndi Barrett, Josie Smith, Leah Lussier, Gloria Smith, Phyllis Smith, Craig Smith, Patrick Smith, Richard Smith, Sr., Sydney Sayers, Diamond Cloud, Bear Woman Stately, Mary Prentice, Quinton Sayers, Adrian Sayers, Jr., Kelsey Sumner, Kaylee Sumner and Colleen Erickson. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake, MN.
