Robert Wayne Budreau, Sr. also known as “Wheat”, age 41 of Cass Lake, began his spiritual journey on Sunday, September 17, 2017.  He was born on September 19, 1975 in Cass Lake, MN. 

His mother, Brenda Budreau met the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Morgan while pregnant with Robert.  When he was 5 to 6 years old many family members thought Robert resembled “Buck Wheat”, from the Little Rascals show, so his father Bob decided to dress him up as Buck Wheat for Halloween.  He had a squirrel tail hat, white painted lips, and white painted rings around his eyes.  His mother was upset when she saw him like this, but the name “Buck Wheat” stuck and later would become just “Wheat”.  When Wheat was a young teen he decided to move into his aunt Elsie Budreau’s home.  Elsie was an excellent mother to Wheat and they shared a strong bond.  He also lived with his grandmother Loretta Jones-Budreau.  In his adult life, he loved listening to music of all kinds, watching sporting events, boxing matches, and MMA.  One of his favorite times was playing Texas hold-em with his late mother and father along with the family.  He really enjoyed spending time with his family and doing family things.

The family that Wheat joins again are his mother; Brenda Budreau, father; Donald “Skel” Fisherman, father that raised him from birth; Robert “Bob” Morgan, grandparents; Milton and Loretta Budreau, Donald “Duck” Fisherman, other relatives and friends.

Family that will cherish his memory are siblings; Lena Morgan (Anthony White), Eric Budreau, Donald Wind, Sr., James Raisch, long time special friend Bonita Earth, children; Robert W. Budreau, Jr., Faleisha Budreau, granddaughter; Amiyah Grace Baird, grandmother Nancy Whitebird, nieces and nephews; special nephew, Brendan Littlewolf, Gilbert Littlewolf, Jr., Deelia Littlewolf, James Raisch, Jr., Lucille Raisch, Kinsley Raisch, Shayne Wind, Kaydon Wind, Donald Wind, Jr., Mariah Roy, Donaiah Goodwin, other relatives and many friends.

A wake for Wheat will begin 6 p.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2017 and will continue until the 1:00 p.m. service on Thursday, September 21 all held at the Facility Center in Cass Lake.  Father George Ross will officiate.  Pallbearers for Wheat will be Robert J. Budreau, Jr., Harold Budreau, Alden Fairbanks, Jr., Robert J. Budreau, Sr., Tone White, Richard Budreau, Roger Buck, and Elias Budreau.  Honorary pallbearers will be Robert W. Budreau, Jr., Eric Budreau, Donald Wind, Sr., James Raisch, Sr., Kyle Fairbanks, Sr., Chad Budreau, Gilbert Littlewolf, Jr., Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and relatives.  Interment will be held in the Prince of Peace Cemetery in Cass Lake following the service.
