Robert Willis Johnson

Robert “Rob” Willis Johnson, 40 years young, of Guthrie, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.  Rob was born to Richard and Gloria (Jenks) Johnson on November 27, 1978 in Bemidji, MN.

Rob grew up in Walker and graduated from Walker Hackensack Akeley High School in 1997.  He remained close, residing in Guthrie and in Rochester with Tricia.  Rob owned the old family house he and his siblings all grew up in, remodeling it for himself.  He also bought and restored the Guthrie church into a home.

Rob worked in the masonry restoration industry from age 18, compiling 22 years of work throughout the Midwest region.  He loved his work, he was very knowledgeable in it and always took great pride in the work he did.  Rob was a great friend to his co-workers even though he was usually their boss or foreman.

He was a good listener with an honest opinion.  Rob enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting, ice fishing, and any productive task to help others.  Anything he could do to help he would, such as fixing and helping to maintain all of his family’s cars.  He would literally give you the shirt off his back.  Rob was a fan of Chevy's, ice racing, and all things in between.  He enjoyed ice hockey, rollerblading, four wheeling, snowmobiling, boating with friends, and golfing with Tricia.  He loved his nieces and nephews and was proud of them all.  Rob enjoyed stealing Reese's peanut butter cups from Kiana and Kayla.  Even as adults, Rob picked on his kid sister, Cherri, but no one else could.  He was truly the family rock!

Family that Rob is reunited with are his infant brother; Jeremiah Johnson, grandparents, brother in law; Jeremy Landt and close friend; Erick Mattson.

Those he leaves behind to forever cherish his memory and great spirit are his parents; Gloria and Richard Johnson of Akeley, soul mate; Tricia Bremer of Rochester, brothers; John Jenks of Little Falls and Andrew (Lisa) Johnson of Akeley, sister; Cherri Landt of Laporte, nieces and nephews; Rachael, Jamie, Justin and AJ Jenks and Kiana and Kayla Landt, other relatives and too many close friends to list.

Visitations for Rob will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, December 28th at Northern Peace Funeral Home in Walker and a one hour prior to his celebration, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Hope Lutheran Church.  A celebration of Rob’s life will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Hope Lutheran Church in Walker, MN.  Pastor Matthew McWaters will officiate.  Helping to lay Rob to rest are Dana Fisher, Justin Shaw, Chad Tabaka, Gabe Hoopman, Josh Seely-Sautbine, Rodney Johnson, Reid Watson and Rich Kenly.  His honorary pallbearers are John Jenks, Andrew Johnson, Cherri Landt, Justin Jenks, AJ Jenks and Chad Reierson.  Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Walker, MN.
