Roger Howard Hulett

Roger Howard Hulett, Sr., age 81, of Cass Lake, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2018 with his family right by his side.  Roger was born on February 27, 1937 in Kalispell, Montana to Vivian Hulett.

Losing our father is one of the most difficult things we’ve gone through.  Today, we realize just how fortunate we were to have him as a father and grandfather.  There are no words to express the influence he had in our lives.  Through him we learned to be who we are today.

Roger was hardworking, strong, loving and devoted to his children and grandchildren.  At the young age of 14, he dropped out of school to take a job as a truck driver.  Roger was on the road quite a bit but had to do his part to help his mother, Vivian, pay the bills.  He met Caroline in 1974 and they started dating and were later married.  They moved to Minnesota in 1984 were they raised their children, Ronald, Donald, Stephanie and Delores for the next 30 years.  Roger loved to fish, be outdoors, he was a great auto mechanic and loved to help people in any way he could.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and especially loved the holidays when everyone would be together, enjoying each others company, eating a big dinner, laughing and joking around.

Roger has been reunited with his daughter; Stephanie Hatfield, his mother; Vivian Hulett, brothers; Ronald and Rodney Hulett, his grandparents, mother-in-law; Christina Dorr and numerous other relatives.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his wife; Caroline Hulett, sons; Ron (Lorraine) Hulett, Sr., Don (Lorie) Hatfield, Roger Hulett, Jr. and Howard Johnson, daughters; Delores (Dan Staples) Fields, Betty Hulett and Vivian Hulett, grandchildren; Larissa, Ron Jr., Alex, Leslee, Levi, Jayden, Vincent, Ashley, Brittany, Scott, David, Junior, Deanne, many great grandchildren, relatives and friends.

A wake for Roger will begin at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3rd and continue until his funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 5th all being held at the Mission Community Center in Cass Lake, MN.  Pastor Dave Yates will officiate.  Pallbearers for Roger will be Ron Hulett, Sr., Ron Hulett, Jr., Don Hatfield, Jayden Howard, David Headbird and Scott Headbird.  Alternate pallbearer will be Alex Thompson-Hulett.  His honorary pallbearers are Bob Wittner, George Knaffla, Marlys Knaffla, Roger Hulett, Jr., Howard Johnson, Donnie Headbird, Jess Headbird, Donahue Wittner, Dean Kvalevog, Mike Larson., Vincent Downwind, Larissa Hulett, Deanna Headbird and Kenny Moore.  A private scattering of Roger’s cremains will be held at a later date.
