Ruby Jane (Bullhead) Lightfeather, 58 years old, of Bemidji, Minnesota, began her journey to the spirit world on Sunday, December 31, 2017 from Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.  She was born in Ponemah, MN on September 3, 1959.

Ruby was a loving mother, sister, aunt and grandmother.  The time we did have with her is filled with a lot of great and special memories.  Ruby enjoyed going to the casino, reading books, watching movies, shopping, going to powwows and spending time with her family and grandchildren.  Ruby had a love for the Minions, bears and candy.  She was loved by all of us and she will be greatly missed.

Ruby is welcomed to the spirit world by her son; Robert Lightfeather, Sr., parents; Edna and Gerald Rodewald, grandson; Robert Lightfeather, Jr., grandparents; Ethel and Edward Bullhead, uncles; Leroy, Melvin and Floyd Bullhead and Steven Hunter, aunts; Rachel Hunter and Rose Marie Bebo, nephews; Edwin Bullhead, Jr. and Andrew Battees and cousins; Donald and Justin Bullhead.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her sons; Darrin Lightfeather, Jerry Lightfeather, Jr., Santana Big Bear and Keenan Stone, brothers; Edwin Bullhead, Sr. and Brian Whitebird, sisters; Charlotte Bullhead, Cheryl and Cindy Rodewald, daughter-in-law; Kristin Lightfeather, brother-in-law; Brian Northbird, grandchildren; Mya and Aaliyah Lightfeather and Ayana Burrell-Lightfeather, her friend and caregiver for the past three years; Deb Beckstrand, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A wake for Ruby will begin at 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 5th and continue until her traditional service at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, January 7th all being held at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN.  Steve Jackson “Waa-maajaa’iwed” will be her Spiritual Advisor.  Pallbearers for Ruby will be Brian Whitebird, Tex Bullhead, Donald Hurd, Joseph Northbird, Tyler Snyder and Austin Snyder.  Her honorary pallbearers are all her family and friends.  Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds at Ponemah, MN following her services on Sunday.
