Samantha Elizabeth Casey

Samantha Elizabeth Casey, age 51, of Cass Lake, Minnesota journeyed to the spirit world on Saturday, October 12th, 2019 from the Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, MN.  She was born May 18th, 1968 in Wilmar, MN, the daughter of Hazel (Raisch) and Thomas Casey.

Everyone who know Samantha knew that she was a caring and good-hearted woman who loved to make people laugh.  Samantha spent her childhood between Duluth and Cass Lake, eventually making her home in Cass Lake with her children.  She was a stay at home mom, who took very good care of her children; the reason they enjoy spending as much time with her as they could.  Samantha loved going out for rides as often as she could, going to the casino and spending time with her friends but before she could do any of that, she had to make sure her house was clean.  Samantha loved a good thunderstorm, as if the sound of the thunder brought peace to her soul.  She left us too soon and we will miss her dearly.

Welcoming Samantha are her parents, Hazel and Thomas Casey; her sisters, Toni and Jo Casey and numerous other relatives.

Family she leaves behind are her children, Sam Casey, George Whipple III, Simon Whipple, Stevie and Sammi Jo Casey all of Cass Lake; one grandson, Maxwell Tanner; an auntie, Lucille Wakanabo; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

An over night wake for Samantha will begin at 4:00 p.m., Friday, October 25th and continue until her 11:00 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, October 26th all to be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN.  Pallbearer for Samantha will be her son Sam Casey.  Her honorary pallbearers are Kelly Robinson, Emily Munyer, April Voeltz and Nancy Stangel.  Inurnment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery at Cass Lake, MN immediately following her service.
