Alberta Jennie Zamora (Roberts) was born on March 4, 1939, to Charles and Jennie Roberts in Red Lake, MN. Alberta nickname “Hag” would later move to Minneapolis and then on to spend many years in California. Alberta was a strong, hard-working woman who had many occupations throughout her life as a housekeeper for many families and working for companies such as the Minneapolis Club, Northwest Airlines, and later retired from Honeywell. She came out of retirement to work in construction for the City of Minneapolis Public Works Department. She loved to travel. Often taking off with her grandkids on weekend excursions. She was independent, accomplished, a comedian, a fighter, and a matriarch. Alberta loved and cared for her family. You will forever be loved and cherished in our hearts as you have touched so many along your journey of life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and loving partner Jackson Livingston, sisters; Frances Graves, Phyllis Jourdain, and Virgina Roberts, brothers; Dwight Roberts, Norman “Butch” Roberts, Floyd Roberts, Fred Roberts, and Jimmy Boy Roberts and great granddaughter Santia Lee Zamora.
Survived by her brother Douglas Roberts; daughters; Irene Zamora, Beverly Zamora, Mickey Zamora, Arlene Zamora, and Jane Zamora, son; John Zamora, Sr., and many beloved grandchildren.

A two-night wake for Alberta will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30th, 2026, and continue until her 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Sunday, February 1st all to be held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, MN. Zac Earley will be her Spiritual Advisor. Those helping to lay Alberta to rest are Jeremiah Zamora, Mahkwaheeneenee Zamora, Hans Borich, Antonio Zamora Barron, Peter Fabel, Elias O’Keefe, and John Zamora, Jr. Her honorary pallbearers are Mahkwaheeneenee Zamora, Jeremiah L. Zamora, Pat Graves, Mary Graves. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery immediately following her Sunday services.
