Andonis Demsi Levering

Andonis “Donsi”, Demsi Levering, “Asinikwe” meaning “Stone Woman,” age 32, of the Deer Clan and Duluth, MN, journeyed to the spirit world on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, from Duluth, MN. Donsi was born in Duluth on September 7, 1990, the daughter of Angela Washington and James Levering.

Donsi was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister, auntie, cousin, friend, and her most favorite role, mother. She enjoyed going to the casino and coloring. Her artwork was centrally focused and inspired around her children. Donsi was a fashionista, she was always the best dressed, with fancy jewelry, complimenting shoes, and her hair was always colored. She loved to eat, especially spicy food. She competed in Buffalo Wild Wings contests, even when she was pregnant. Donsi loved being a mother and an auntie. Donsi cherished her loving grandparents Bart and Pat. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Those greeting Donsi in the spirit world are her grandparents, Ellen “Tiny” and Nelson Levering; sister, Clarice Thompson; brother, Emmanuel Olson; and uncle, Brian Long.

Those left behind to cherish the memory of Donsi are her mom, Angela (Kurt) Washington-Buffalo of Duluth; dad, James Levering of Iowa; father of her children, Isaac Curtis; sons, Maajiikawis Curtis, Jaxson Levering; daughters, Ayashe Curtis, Magdalena Levering; brothers, Eugene Olson, Jr., Niikan Buffalo, Zaaga’Igan Buffalo; sister, Alesia Washington-Buffalo; grandparents, Bartholomew Long, Patricia Garbow-Long, Joe and Colleen Buffalo; aunts, Shannon Long, Edye and Eliza Washington; uncle, Nathaniel (Genevieve) Longtail; extended family, Eugene Olson; and her loving Winnebago siblings and family.

An overnight wake for Donsi will begin Friday, September 23, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. and continue until her Saturday, September 24, 2022, 9:00 a.m. service, all to be held at the Inger Community Center in Inger, MN. Spiritual Advisor for Donsi will be Michael Dahl who will be assisted by her uncle, William Howes III. Those helping to lay Donsi to rest will be Niikan Buffalo, Zaaga’ Igan Buffalo, Izaiah Lightfeather, Che Howes, Trevor Plentyhorse, Isaac Curtis, Silas Peacock, and Chase Roy. Honorary pallbearers are all Donsi’s family and friends. Interment will be in Inger Cemetery in Inger, MN.
