Barbara Jean Hopkins, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 13, 2024, at Crystal Brook Memory Care, Park Rapids, MN. Barb was born December 16, 1928, in Alamosa, CO to Etharage and Viola (Goodrich) Heath. She lived most of her young life in Brighton, CO where she graduated High School in 1946.
She married Jerry Hopkins in October 1949. Barb and Jerry raised 5 children: Charlie (Libby) Hopkins, Debra (Bruce) Ingersoll, Julie (Murray) Bright, Jean (Ron) Stolzenburg, and Jim (Kim) Hopkins.
Perhaps Barbs biggest legacy was the Christmas ornaments she crafted in needle point canvas for all her grandchildren and great nieces and nephews each year until they graduated High School. Barb was a 50+ year member of the Eastern Star and she loved her Eastern Star family dearly. Barb was also active in her church community, Grace United Methodist Church, Moorhead where she held many leadership roles through the years and loved the Saturday donut making.
Barb was well traveled visiting her sister in Hawaii many times along with adventures to Australia, Africa, China, the British Isles, Costa Rica and Panama.
Barb has rejoined her heavenly family including her parents, much loved husband Jerry, her daughter Debra, son-in-law Bruce and grandson Adam.
Barb’s final resting place will be in Grand Lake Cemetery, Grand Lake, CO.
A memorial service for Barb will be held on October 19,2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Moorehead Masonic Temple 1815 11 St. N. Moorhead, MN.
