Barbara Ann Shipley

Barbara Ann Shipley, age 75, of Longville, Minnesota began her journey to the spirit world on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022, at the Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids, MN.

Barbara was born on Saturday, June 14th, 1947, in Federal Dam, MN, the daughter of Lettie White and John Morrow.  Her sister Leona vaguely remembers, (as she was four years older) that when Barbara was a baby, she tried to keep her hidden from the people who came to take her, before she moved to Illinois to be with her adopted family.  When Barbara came back to the area to live with her significant other, Jerry, her relatives came to welcome her home.  Barbara was an outdoorsy woman who enjoyed crafts, going to rummage sales but she especially liked going to the thrift stores.  She was an amazing cook who loved to cook for all her friends and family.

Family that welcomes Barbara to the spirit world are her parents, Lettie and John; her sisters, Eunice and Caroline Morrow, Darlene Sanders, Lettie and Janice Brown; brothers, Arthur and Laverne Morrow, Hartley White and Max Morrow, Sr.; many aunties, uncles, other family members and some friends.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her significant other of 45 years, Jerry Jensen; children, Shannon (Joe) LaGou, Robert Shipley and Joe Murdent; sister, Leona Shaugobay; brother, Jack Morrow; seven grandbabies, numerous nieces and nephews, the Morrow family, the White family, the Greene family, the Brown family, other relatives and too many friends to list.

An overnight wake for Barbara will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11th and continue until her 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Monday, September 12th all being held at the Sugar Point Community Center in Federal Dam, MN.  Allen Hardy will be her Spiritual Advisor.  Helping to lay Barbara to rest will be her family and friends.  Interment will be next to her siblings in the Battle Point Burial Grounds at Federal Dam, MN.
