Brian Robert Chosa

Brian Robert Chosa, age 64, of Cass Lake, Minnesota journeyed to the spirit world from the Cass Lake IHS Hospital on Monday, May 8th, 2023.  He was born in Tower, MN on November 3rd, 1958, the son of Gladys (Fisherman) and Fred Chosa.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing card games and loved listening to his music.  Brian loved to collect lighters, coins, and anything Vikings because he was a huge fan.  He worked at the palace casino for 30+ years and a cold Bud Light was always after a hard day's work.  Brian was known to be a very hard worker and very reliable, not only to his friends and family but to his co-workers as well.  A great man will be greatly missed.

Family that has passed on before Brian are his parents, Gladys and Fred Chosa; granddaughter; Janessa White, siblings, Henry Chosa, Ronald Chosa, Eugene Chosa, Raymond Chosa, LeRoy Chosa, Fred Chosa Jr., Catherine Chosa and Leonard Fisherman and other family members.

He leaves behind his daughters, Jennifer, Stephanie, and Bryanne Chosa, his grandkids; Emily, Mark, Tyler Dorman, Aaron Brown, Jr., Jaymeson, Shiloh and Migizi Chosa Brown, Chantaya Chosa-Warrior, Mikhaela, Brooklyn, Kendrick Warrior, Nyjah Retamozo-Chosa, Tyannah, Eva, Savannah O’Shea, Zaniyah O’Brien, Duane, James Sr., Peggy, Loretta, Arlene Chosa, and Joyce Fisherman, many nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends.

An overnight gathering of family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13th and continue until 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 14th, 2023, at the Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center, 2300 15th Avenue So., Minneapolis, MN.  The Pallbearers for Brian are James Chosa, Jr., Aaron Chosa-Brown, Jr., LeeRoy Chosa, Sr., Saint Cration, Anthony Chosa, and Duane Chosa.  His honorary pallbearers are James Chosa, Sr., Jaymeson Chosa-Brown, Shiloh Brown-Chosa, Migizi Chosa-Brown, Brooklyn Warrior, Kendrick Warrior, Mark Dorman, Jr., and Tyler Dorman.  A private scattering of Brian’s cremains will take place at a later date.
