Brian Haugen Obituary

Brian Keith Haugen, 59, went home on June 25, 2021 at Sanford Health in Bemidji. He was born on March 29, 1962 in Zumbrota, MN the son of Cecil Orrin Haugen and Fern Elizabeth Morgan. 

Brian lived with his brothers in Zumbrota, MN until moving to their Cass Lake home in 1976, and he lived in the area until his passing. Brian worked many years of his life. After high school he worked with his father and brothers building and repairing pipelines.  He also worked many positions at Leech Lake Gaming.  Brian loved hunting, ricing, picking boughs, and just about everything outdoors with his brothers and father. In recent years, he enjoyed visits with family around the farm in Wilkinson.  Overall, Brian was a kind, generous, funny, and caring man.  He never turned down anyone in need and would give you the shirt off his back. 

The family that Brian joins again are his parents Cecil, Sr. and mother Fern, brothers; Kelly Haugen, Gerald Haugen, Patrick Haugen and Robert Morgan; sister Deedee Haugen, great nephew; Miskwaadesi Roberts, and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. 
Those he leaves behind are his daughter; Kimberly Hunt,  siblings; Cecil, Jr. (Tiny), Thomas, Shannon, Therese (Christopher) Konecne, Faye Haugen, and Lisa Morgan, auntie; Cookie Cloud, grandchildren; Maeonna Hunt, Hailey Hunt, Ava Hunt and Nova Hunt, nieces; Cathy (Trevor) Haugen, Carlie (Andrew) Cagle, Jessica (Joey) Carter, Tiffanni Haugen, and Anita Dunn nephews; Devin Smith, John Dunn, Jason Dunn, Jesse (Angie) Dunn, Great nieces; Lyra, Danika, Jessica and Gracelyn, Great Nephews; Tristan, Cecil, Randy Jr, Spud, Lucas, Marvin, Calvin, and Benny, many cousins, and a lot of friends.   

A wake for Brian will begin at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN on Wednesday, June 30 at 5:00 pm and continue until his funeral on Friday, July 2 at 11:00 am. Pallbearers for Brian are Thomas Haugen, Devin Smith-Haugen, Christopher Konecne, Jesse Dunn, Torrey Kingbird, and William Morgan. Alternate pallbearers are Richard Morgan and Javier Esquivel.  His honorary pallbearers are Gene Peterman, Neal Peterman, Paul Peterman and all of his nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
