Cecelia Rose Red Eagle, 76, “SahKahTay“ which means “Sunshine” of Bemidji, Minnesota went to be with her Lord Jesus from the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND on Monday, June 22nd, 2020.
Cecelia was born in Red Lake, MN on June 12th, 1944 to John and Mary (Spears) Red Eagle. She grew up in Red Lake and later ventured off the New York to be a Nanny. She also nannied in Sacramento, CA for a few years before moving to Minneapolis where she worked as a Housekeeper at the Marquette Place Apartments for many years. In 2016, Cecelia decided it was time to return to her home of Red Lake. She met Harvey Bellanger; he was her significant other until the time of his passing. Cecelia loved to spend time with all her nieces, nephews and friends. She also liked doing crossword puzzles and going to the casino. Cecelia will be forever missed by those who loved her.
Family that Cecelia is reunited with are her parents, John and Mary Red Eagle; significant other, Harvey Bellanger; sisters, Irene, Josie Ann, Jean and Mary Sumner; brothers, David and Roman; nephews, Brian Red Eagle, Greg, Lester and Brian Sumner; and niece, Mary Jane Natewa.
She leaves behind her brother, Burt (Doyla) Red Eagle; sister, Manette (Marquist) Red Eagle; special niece, Simone Sumner; special nephew, Chad Prentice, several other nieces and nephews and many friends.
An overnight wake for Cecelia will begin at 12:00, Friday, June 26th and will continue until her 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, June 27th, 2020 all to be held at the New Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake, MN. Father Jerry Rogers will officiate. Pallbearers for Cecelia are Jon Roberts, Ole Spears, Chad Prentice, Geeb Sumner, Timm Sumner, and Doug Beaulieu. The alternate pallbearer is DeAnthony Gonzalez. Her honorary pallbearers are Kathy Anderson, Roseann Spears, Kathy Johns, Sandy Fevig, Kathy Dudley, Rita Weise, Alberta Strong, Nonny Sigana, Betty Beaulieu and Joanie Hill. Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake, MN following her services.
