Charles Robert Staples, III

Charles Robert Staples, III, “Migizi”, which means Bald Eagle, 58 of Akeley Minnesota started his journey July 10, 2020.  He was born in Cass Lake on June 24, 1962 to Evelyn Clark and Charles Robert Staples, Jr.

 Charles went to school and got his GED and enrolled in the Army National Guard.  After the Army he met Stacy Widstrom and had two children.  Charles Widstrom and Timothy Widstrom.  He worked at P.P.L. Inc. in Minneapolis, MN and later moved back to Cass Lake with Family and worked at Northern Lights as a Security Guard.  He loved to draw, bullshit, make dream catchers, play dominoes, $10,000 Aces and Keno.  Charles loved to tell jokes and stories even if they were true or not.  He enjoyed spending time with family and loved his grandchildren.  He was immensely proud to get to raise his nieces and nephews and his special niece Sasha Hale.

 Those who welcome Charles to the spirit world are his son; Timothy Widstrom, parents; Evelyn Clark and Charles Staples, Jr., siblings; Ronald Staples, David Staples, Sr., grandparents; Louise Johnson and Clarence Clark (Fagen) of Ponsford, Margaret Charwood and Charles Staples, Sr. of Cass Lake, great nephew; De’Shawn Staples and many aunts and uncles.

 Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his son: Charles (Krista) Widstrom, siblings; Duane Clark, Cheryl (Joey) Staples, Richard Staples, Sr., Scott (Kara) Staples, Michael (Josette) Staples, Bonnie (Joe) Beaulieu, Debbie (Bebop) Kingbird, grandchild; Tatum Caprice, Breanna Marie, Daniel Lee Widstrom and Dillion Widstrom and numerous other relatives and many friends.

 A wake for Charles will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14th and continue until his 2:00 p.m. traditional service on Tuesday, July 14th all to be held at the Vets Building in Cass Lake.  His spiritual leader will be Alan Hardy.  Pallbearers for Charles will be Michael Staples, Duane Clark, Paul Staples, Scott Staples, Richard Staples, Sr., Dan White, II, Joey Wright and Rob Adams, Sr.  His honorary pallbearers his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family.  Interment will be in the Goodman Cemetery at Cass Lake, MN following his Tuesday services.
