Charlotte Mary White
Ma’iingan Ikwe “Wolf Woman”
March 8th, 1934 -October 13th, 2024
(90th Birthday Celebration)
With the heaviest of hearts, we say “see you again.” There are no final goodbyes as we will all be reunited one day. You left us peacefully on the morning of October 13th. As with everything else in life, you decided when the time was right.
For decades, Charlotte dedicated herself to her family and to the rights of Natives within not only the tribe, but throughout the state of MN. Her unwavering spirit and unshakable resilience carved a path of strength and prosperity for not only the Ojibwe people, but the lineage of Pemberton’s to follow. Facing each challenge with grace and unmatched patience, treating everyone that walked through her doorway as warmly as the sun greeting the morning.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents Eliza (Pell) Bedeau and Charles Bedeau, two of her siblings Duane and Linda Bedeau, two of her sons Charles Pemberton and Dallas Pemberton Jr. and grandson Daniel Osceola.
Charlotte will be deeply missed by those touched by her presence and perseverance carried through her to all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
For her, there are no more goodbyes, only the warmest greetings as time passes. To no more farewells, only “see you again.”
Per Charlotte's wishes, there will be no services. The family will not be accepting any monetary donations. In lieu, please consider a donation to your favorite Veterans charity in memory of Charlotte.
Charlotte’s care has been entrusted to Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker, MN. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.northernpeace.com
