Christine "Chris" Davis Obituary

Christine “Chris” went home to be with the Lord and to be united with the loved ones that are waiting for her on November 9, 2024. She was born on April 16, 1942, to Louis and Beatrice (Juenke) Marsolek at home in Wilkinson Township, Wilkinson, MN

 

Chris grew up on the family farm in Wilkinson and attended the Raboin and Wilkinson one room Country schools for the first 4 years before attending and graduating from the Cass Lake-Bena school in 1960. In 1973, she attended the Monterrey International Pivot Point Academy of Hair Design in Monterrey, California and graduated in 1974. In 1975, she took evening classes at the college in Monterrey, California for Business Management.

 

She worked for AAFES as a Manager/Hair Stylist at Fort Ord, California for 10 years.  She worked for 2 years in Wertheim, Germany as a hair stylist.  Upon returning to California, she owned and operated Chris’s Hair Styling Salon before moving to Kansas where she owned and operated the Britannia Beauty Salon. Returning to Minnesota, she owned a bird farm for several years before she went to work for Northern Lights Casino as a Dining Room Manager and Food Server before going to Grand Casino as a Beverage Supervisor in Onamia, MN, for the last 5 years before retiring, she worked with Special Needs young men and women and for Good Will Industry.

 

In September 1960 she married Lee Davis of Pine River, MN at the Mahone Chapel in Fort Lee, Virginia where Lee was stationed in the US Army at the time of their marriage. In December 2010, she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. In 2012, she went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and had a Stem Cell Transplant for the Multiple Myeloma which gave her several more years of life.

 

Chris lived in several US States and overseas in Panama and Germany before returning home to Minnesota.

 

Chris enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. When she was not outside, she worked on jigsaw or crossword puzzles and reading (especially biography). She loved to sew (specially making quilt tops) cooking and baking was what she enjoyed the most. In the winter, she would feed the wild birds, rabbits, and deer that came into her yard.

She collected blown glass figurines, clowns, and state plates.

 

Chris is survived by her daughter, Pamela Davis of Wilkinson, MN; son, Lee Dale Davis II of Belen, NM; daughter-in-law, Valerie Davis of Belen, NM; 2 grandsons, Curtis Lee Davis and Tristen Martin Davis of Belen, NM; great-granddaughter,  Ava Davis of Belen, NM; sister, Florence Olson of Guthrie, MN; brother, David (Roberta) Marsolek of Wilkinson, MN; sister-in-law, Anne Marsolek of Garland, TX; 10 nieces; 5 nephews; 26 great nieces and nephews; uncle, Robert Juenke of Columbia Falls, MT.

 

Chris is proceeded in death by her parents, Louis and Beatrice (Juenke) Marsolek; husband, Lee Davis, Sr.; brothers, Alfred, LeRoy and Carl Marsolek; brother-in-law, Robert (Bob) Olson; sister-in-law, Sandra “Sandy” Marsolek; 3 cousins, Robert “Bob” Kuehmicheal, Betty (Darrell) Anderson, and Ted Juenke; other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

Upon HER request NO services before or after her cremation.

 

Final Resting Place will be in the Minnesota Veteran’s Cemetery (Ft. Ripley) Little Falls, MN.
