Christine "Kristy" Cecille (Busse) Olson

Christine "Kristy" Olson, age 72, of the Busse Clan of Mahnomen, MN passed away in her home on Friday, November 8, 2024.

Born on December 10, 1951, in Fosston, MN to Veronica "Swede" Martin & Leland Busse, Kristy grew up on a farm with 8 wonderful siblings. After graduating from Mahnomen High School in 1970, Kristy went into & graduated from nursing school in Thief River Falls as an LPN. She dedicated much of her life to being a nurse & volunteered as an EMT in Wilton helping others.

Kristy enjoyed caring for her plants and flowers & loved the feeling of dirt in her hands. She loved going to the casino with her grandson Tanner & played her "lucky" machine Kitty Glitter whether it was lucky or not. Kristy was a Facebook "junkie" playing Words with Friends but never turned down the opportunity to play scrabble with her beautiful granddaughter Alexis. She also enjoyed playing cards with family & friends & would often have to keep an extra eye on her quick-handed & jokester grandson Taylon.

Kristy is united with her parents, Leland Busse and Veronica "Swede" Martin; in-laws, Raymond (Hazel) Olson & Helen Olson; son, Lucas Olson; brothers, William (Marcella) Busse & Myron Busse; sisters, Lois (Eddy) Steckley, Marjorie (Edmond) Pederson, Patricia Spaeth, & Janice Smith.

Those Kristy leaves behind to cherish her memories are her two sons, Joshua (Andrea) Olson and Travis (Amy) Olson; daughter, Katie Olson; three wonderful grandchildren, Tanner Olson, Alexis Olson, Taylon Olson; 5 grand puppies, Jinger, Jorja, Diesel, Remi, Ellie; father of her children, Jeffrey Olson; brother, James (Diane) Busse; sister, Sue (Richard) Buche; sister-in-law, LuWana Russell; several nephews & nieces as well as many great nephews & great nieces.

Kristy's Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7th at Jim and Diane Busse's Shop (Busse Welding-Mahnomen, MN) where food & refreshments will be offered while we share memories of Kristy & listen to her favorite band Queen.
