Christopher Lee Barrett, age 37, “Manidoo-Inini” which means “Spirit Man” of Cass Lake, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on Wednesday, September 5th, 2023.
Christopher was born in Bemidji, MN on June 6th, 1986, to Marla LaDuke. He spent his whole life in Cass Lake, MN.
Christopher was known to all for his great sense of humor and teasing people. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his daughter, Destinee, along with his mother and brothers, as well as his nieces and nephews. Christopher earned his GED in 2009 from the Cass Lake ALC and he was very proud of that.
He was a true outdoors man and he enjoyed snowmobiling, yard work and taking drives to look at the scenery and listening to music. He also liked to watch crazy TV shows that made him laugh! He was known for his crazy selfies, with wigs and other things. He had all types of filters to make him look funny.
Family Christopher is reunited with are his grandparents, Iva Lou LaDuke, Alfred Leo LaDuke, and Gladys Norcross Barrett; Aunt Lori Ann LaDuke, and numerous other aunts and uncles, and cousins.
Those he leaves behind to forever cherish his memory are his mom, Marla LaDukje; fiancé, Roxanne Jones; daughters, Destinee Layah Lee Barrett, and Ninii- Moshae Conger; brothers, Shawn Staples, Joshua LaDuke, and Joseph Fineday; sister, Beth Barrett, and special grandson, William “chilly willie” Jones.
A 3-day wake for Christopher will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8th and continue, until his 10:00 a.m. Sunday, September 10, 2023, traditional service, all to be held at the Mission Community Center in Cass Lake, MN. Allen Hardy is the spiritual advisor. Those helping to lay Christopher to rest are Tanner LaDuke, Dale Fairbanks, Alfred LaDuke, Shawn Staples, Joshua LaDuke, Donald Armstong Jr., and Kyle Little. His honorary pallbearers are Dedrick LaDuke, Terry LaDuke Jr., Chev Wind, and all his all his aunt’s uncle’s family and friends.
