Clarice Mary (Day) White

Clarice Mary White, age 86, also known as “Babe and Mindy” of Minneapolis, Minnesota, began her journey to the spirit world on September 17, 2023, from her home, Providence Place.

Clarice was born on June 4, 1937, in Onigum, Minnesota to John and Gladys (Allen) Day.

Clarice spent her life teaching at various schools in the state of Minnesota.  She enjoyed playing softball and bowling with her sisters.  They were bowling champions in Bemidji, MN.  She also enjoyed a good game of cribbage.   She quilted with her sisters for ceremonies that her family held twice a year, and she was a pipe carrier for the ceremonies.  Clarice was part of the Ojibwa Hym Singers.

She never turned down the chance to take care of her grandchildren or great-grandchildren.  Clarice liked to cook and bake bread, but before you could eat, she was known for telling you to wash your hands first.  Clarice was in a birthday club, where she started out as the youngest member then ended up the oldest one.  She loved to travel, especially to Mexico.

Family Clarice is reunited with are her husbands, Howard White, Sr., and James White; parents, John and Gladys Day; sons, Howard White, Jr. and Ralph White; sisters, Donna Morgan, Barbara Saice, and Janice Day; brothers, Ralph Day, Ronald Day, Richard Day, and Raymond Day; and granddaughter, Elizabeth White.

Those Clarice leaves behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Rodney (Glenda) White, and Russell White; daughters, Mary (Philip) Flocken, and Barbara White; brothers, Paul (Betty) Day, John (Monica) Day, Donald (Pricilla) Day, Steve (Tammy) Day, Lawrence (Gloria) Day; sisters, Sue Jones, and Doris Jones; grandchildren, Nicholas White, Brandon Beaulieu, Adam White, John White, Clint White Sr., Scott White Sr., Zach White, Ralph White, Devonte White, Robert White, Marcus White, Jared White, Corey Weaver, Stephanie Adams; great-grandchildren, Clint White Jr., Quin Brown-White, Scott White Jr, Olivia White, Lauren Adams, Aries Weaver, Elijah Weaver, Dani White, Heather White, Raven Beaulieu, Mariss Beaulieu, Angelique, Zena, Phoenix, Clarice, and Linnea White; great great-grandchildren, Sakari Weaver; great great-great-granddaughter, Saige Lewis.

A two-night wake for Clarice will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the Onigum Community Center, in Onigum, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnus Catholic Church in Walker, MN. Interment will follow lunch after the service in Evergreen Cemetery in Walker, MN.
