Daryl Raincloud Obituary

Daryl L. Raincloud, 57, “Mishtadim” which means “Horse” of the Kingfisher Clan and of Ponemah, Minnesota moved on to the spirit world July 18th, 2020 from his home.  Daryl was born in Red Lake, MN on March 4, 1963 to Carmella (Stillday) and Daniel Raincloud, Jr.

Daryl attended school in Ponemah and Red Lake High School.  He attended Job Corps in 1979-1980.  He was employed with the Red Lake Builders until he succumbed to his physical health.  Daryl was baptized in 1987 in Ponemah.  He lived his life being kind, caring and always staying helpful to others, where and whenever he could.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he loved reading the paper and his bible, playing cards, doing puzzles but he really enjoyed himself at the casino.  Daryl was an avid fisherman, be it setting nets, rod and reel or ice.  He also enjoyed hunting and going for rides in the car, shopping, being busy and eating at the ENP.

Family that welcome Daryl to the spirit world are his parents, Carmella and Daniel Raincloud, Jr; grandfather, Daniel Raincloud, Sr.; grandmothers, Madeline Raincloud and Sybil Stillday; uncles, Albert Raincloud, George Stillday, George Robertson. Charles Bugg and Robert Robertson; aunts, Ona Kingbird, Violet Patterson, Ethel Johnson and Angeline Northbird and his special friend, Carol Ann Strong.

He is survived by his siblings, Harold, Roberta, Arlen, Dawn and Robert Raincloud, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and too many friends to list.

A Celebration of Daryl’s Life and Luncheon will be held at the Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at 11:00 a.m.  Pallbearers are Brandon Raincloud, Sr., Blaine Raincloud, Kevin Patterson, Bruce Taylor, Charles LaRose, Descart Begay, Roger Kingbird, Carter Dow, Stephen Dow, Avery Stillday and all his nephews.  His honorary pallbearers are Sheldon Perkins, Curtis “Crud” Perkins, Dino Perkins, Kevin Johnson, Gordon Spears, Harold Raincloud, Roberta Raincloud, Arlen Raincloud, Dawn Raincloud, Robert Raincloud, Eugene Stillday, all his nieces, nephews, cousins…..all who knew him.
