Deborah Jane (Briggs) Wright

Deborah Jane (Briggs) Wright, age 71, of Walker, Minnesota passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Sunday, February 7th, 2021.

Deborah was born in Waterloo, Iowa on November 11th, 1949 to Donna (Cole) and Donald Briggs.  She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Luverne High School in 1967.  After graduation, Deb attended the Southwest Minnesota State University, graduating with an Art Degree.  She later moved to Minneapolis, where she met Donald Wright.  They were soon married and had two beautiful children together.  Deb went to work for the Department of Social Services in South Dakota and worked there for 20+ years before she retired.

When she wasn’t busy working, Deb was very crafty and kept herself busy with her diamond dot paintings, needlepoint, loom weaving and crocheting.  She loved crocheting blankets for all her babies, all of whom meant more to her than anything.  Deb was always there for her children and grandchildren with her loving and big heart.  She was everyone’s “Mom” and never complained about life, taking it in stride.  Deb was loved and will be missed by all.

Deborah is reunited with her parents, Donna and Donald Briggs, an infant brother, sister, Marion Letempt, uncle, Roderick Briggs and mother-in-law, Marion Frances Wright.

She leaves behind her two children, Rosanna (Lawrence) Wright and Jacob (Amber) Wright; seven grandchildren, Selena, Mya, Myalz, Carly, Abrielle, Jaedon and Spencer; one great grandchild, Jayde; aunt, Lois Briggs; sisters, Crystal St. John and Patricia Auch and her special friend, Glen Rasmussen.

An overnight wake for Deborah will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 and continue until her 11:00 a.m. memorial service on Thursday, February 11, 2021 all to be held at the Onigum Community Center in Onigum, MN.  Donald Wright, Sr. will officiate.  Honorary pallbearers for Deborah are Billy Wright, Jr., Aurthur Anderson, Jr., Allen Simpson, Henry Wiggins, Tyler Sparks, Dale Auch, Jaedon Schoneman, Spencer Ladd and Myalz Wright.  In following with Deborah’s wishes, her cremated remains will be cherished by her family.
