Delton Dennis-John Graves

Delton Dennis-John Graves, “Waaseyaa” meaning “The Light of Day”, age 2, journeyed to the spirit world on Sunday, September 25, 2022, from Red Lake, MN. Delton was born in Bemidji, MN on May 22, 2020, the son of Katieri Graves.

Delton enjoyed playing with his siblings, cars, and basketball. He liked to listen to music, especially Powwow music and screech his high pitch scream along with the powwow music. Delton was a happy little guy with a big smile, who lit up the room. He loved spending time with family and being the center of attention. He liked water, bath time, beach time and in the pool.

Those greeting Delton in the spirit world are his grandmother’s, Armella Stately, Julie White, Wanda Graves; uncles, Anthony James Graves, Aaron Bohn; great-great uncle, Bruce Graves; and grandpa, Harold “Zman” Graves.

Those left behind to cherish the memory of Delton are his mom, Katieri Graves of Redby, MN; grandpa, John Graves; brother, Joseph Schoenborn, Jr.; sisters, Indy Kingbird, Aeryauna Graves-Kingbird; aunties, Chelsea Graves, Sydney Beaulieu; uncles, Timothy White, Aaron Beaulieu; and numerous other family members.

An overnight wake for Delton will begin Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. and continue until his Friday, September 30, 2022, 9:00 a.m. service, all to be held at the Redby Community Center in Redby, MN. Delton’s Spiritual Advisor will be Naabek Liberty. Those helping to lay Delton to rest will be John Graves, Harold Graves, Jr., Kenneth Graves, and Timothy White. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward May, Sr., Rowdy May, Avery White, Aaron Beaulieu, Chelsea Graves, Sydney Beaulieu, Joseph Schoenborn, Jr., Brandon Graves, Debbie Graves, and Star (Kendall) Kingbird. Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds in Redby, MN.
