Donald Erwin Brown

Donald Erwin Brown, age 46, Warrior of the Bear Clan and the Leech Lake Band began his spiritual journey from Minneapolis, Minnesota on November 5th, 2020.  He was born to Ronald Sr. and Barbara (Johnson) Brown on May 4th, 1974 in Sacramento, California.

Donnie loved his children dearly and was so proud to become a grandpa to Kai, born on July 24th, 2020.  He enjoyed the Vikings and eating his candy.  Donnie especially loved spending time with his children and having Wednesday night dinners with them.  He loved visiting the rez, hunting, fishing and playing chess.  Donnie had a great sense of humor; from the hood to the wood, laughter was his medicine. Donnie was proud to be Anishinaabe.

Family that Donnie joins are his mother, Barbara; father, Ronald Sr.; sister, Mary and other family in the spirit world.

He leaves behind his fiancé, Josie Boldt; children, Naomi (David), Alex (McKenzie) and Eva; grandson, Kai; stepmother, Laurie Carlson; brothers, Thomas, Ronald Jr., Ray, Byron, Daniel Harley, Mishikii and John; sisters, Dawn “Dwa”, Ahgahshee, Vera and Sophia, mother of his children, Clare Brown and many nieces, nephews and other family.

Wake services for Donnie will begin at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7th and continue until his 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Monday, November 9th all being held at the Mission Community Center in Cass Lake, MN.  Pallbearers for Donnie will be Alex, Tommy, Ronnie, Ray, Byron, Daniel, Harley and Mish.  Alternate pallbearers are Meanie Huffman and David Gustafson.  Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery at Bena, MN following his Monday services.
