Donald "Donny" Lynn Bellanger

Donald “Donny” Lynn Bellanger, “Miskwa Inining” meaning “Red Man”, age 61, of the Bear Clan and Redby, MN journeyed to the Spirit World on Monday, January 16, 2023, from the Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji, MN. He was born on May 26, 1961, in Red Lake, MN, the son of Ardelle (Blue) and Antoine Bellanger.

Donny proudly served four years in the United States Army before enlisting in the National Guards for an additional eight years. He was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany for four of those years.  He was a hardworking and loyal employee for 32 years (1987-2019) at the Red Lake Retail Store. Donny enjoyed fishing and going to the casino. He was a social guy and liked to go out visiting and share his stories. Donny enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Those greeting Donny in the spirit world are his parents, Antoine and Ardelle Bellanger; sister, Caroline Bellanger; daughter, Krista Mikalojczyk; nieces, Lorena, Yvette, Violet, and Naomi Bellanger; nephews, Quentin Benais, Joshua Bellanger; numerous aunties and uncles.

Those Donny leaves behind to cherish his memory are his brothers, Steve (Roberta) Bellanger, Antoine Bellanger, Jr., Samuel White, Sr.; sisters, Charlys May, Marie Bellanger, Diane (Robin) Lussier, Judith Bellanger, Anita (Jason) Bellanger, Victoria (Gilbert) White; a special nephew, Steven Bellanger, Jr.; aunties, Muriel Dickinson, Shirlene Blue; uncles, Daniel Bellanger, Joseph “Tiny” Bellanger; and a grandson.

An overnight wake for Donny will begin on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. and continue until his Thursday, January 19, 2023, 10:00 a.m. service, all to be held at the Redby Community Center in Redby, MN. Donny’s Spiritual Advisor is Chato Gonzales. Those helping to lay Donny to rest are Brian Bellanger, Gilbert Rosebear, Robin Lussier, Herman Donnell, Charlie Smith, Robin Roy, Sr., Mervel LaRose, and John Sigana, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are all Donny’s family and friends. Military Honors accorded by Three Star Warrior Society from Red Lake, MN. Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds in Redby, MN.
