Douglas "Doug" Jerome Pemberton Sr.

Douglas Jerome Pemberton Sr., age 82, of New Brighton, passed away on July 5, 2023, in New Brighton, MN

Douglas Jerome Pemberton Sr., son of John C. and Margaret R. (Thompson) Pemberton, was born on March 12, 1941, in Cass Lake, Minnesota. He grew up and attended school in Cass Lake and later joined the U.S. Army. He was married to Nancy Goodwin in 1961.

Doug spent most of his life in Minneapolis. He loved to drive. There isn’t a road in the Twin Cities Metro that Doug didn’t know. After many hardships and struggles Doug became sober in 1990 and enjoyed 30+ years of sobriety. Doug dearly loved spending time with his family and friends.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Carla Jo Pemberton, His Brother John Wayne Pemberton, and a brother and sister in infancy.

He’s survived by Nancy Pemberton, son Douglas J. (Linda Marie) Pemberton Jr., daughter Mary (David) Wold, son Dennis (Laurie) Pemberton, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, his sister Betty (Kenneth) Anderson, a brother Robert Pemberton other relatives and friends.

A mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m Thursday, July 13, 2023, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cass Lake. With a visitation one hour prior to the service. Fr. Kuriakose “KK” Nediakala will officiate. Pallbearers are Blake Pemberton, Kyle Wold, Rich Lewis, Isaiah Pemberton, Chase Pemberton, and Mark Goodwin. Interment will be in the Thompson Cemetery, Cass Lake, Minnesota.
