“Einar Died”
That was what he wanted for his obituary. We would like to add a couple little things.
Einar Lyng was born in Fargo, North Dakota December 3, 1927, to Thomas and Ragnhilda (Johnson) Lyng.
He left us to forever dance with his beloved Dona June 11, 2021.
Einar lived a life full of all the expectations of a long life. He knew great love and great sorrow, but he also knew acceptance and contentment. He joined the Army and served in post war Japan. Upon his return he joined the National Guard and was called to serve in Korea in 1951. Einar met his forever sweetheart Dona Knudson and married her in 1949. He said he knew when he saw her, he was going to marry her! This started a lifelong love of over 70 years. Through the years Einar acquired many talents. Einar had a love of wood working, he made everything from beautiful clocks to a catamaran sailboat. He worked for several companies as a Heating and Air Conditioning Expert. Making many friends along the way, leaving them with a whistle and a smile!
Einar is preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife; Dona, sons; Thomas and Daniel Lyng, grandson; Dan Lyng.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son; Tim (Becky) Lyng, daughters; Karen (Mike) Thiel and Lyn Schick, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, his sweet dog Bella who demanded they go for “Walks” every day, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend our deep appreciation to his Sanford Hospice team. A special thanks to his friends Marissa and Chellie who were so dear to him. Thanks also to the Bethany on University staff on Elmwood Square for their tender care.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Einar’s care has been entrusted to Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker, MN. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.northernpeace.com
