Elizabeth Kristine Thompson “Lizzy” (Noodinookwe) “Women Of The Wind” Proud member of The Leech Lake Band Of Ojibwe passed away on March 4, 2025 at the age of 49 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN. Lizzy was born in Minneapolis, MN on July 21, 1975. She attended and graduated from Minneapolis Southwest High School and continued to college where she completed in 3 years. Lizzy loved spending time with family, friends, and her caregivers. Things she loved doing included babysitting, cleaning, listening to her music, and watching movies. Lizzy loved her cat named “Snowball”. She was a very hard worker and took pride in maintaining a job. Lizzy has touched many people’s hearts with her love, kindness and was always outspoken whether you “Liked it or Not”. Our hearts are missing her and there is a sadness among us that cannot be replaced as we mourn the loss of Lizzy. “We live by faith not fear and are assured we will see her again.”

Those that have gone before Lizzy are her parents; Ronald Blue, and Marilyn Thompson, stepfather; John Wilke, grandmother; Sylvia Lieth, sister; Patrica Phonseya, brother; William Thompson Sr. Joe Blue, niece; Marilyn Young, great nephew; Gustovi Phonseya, brothers-in-law Paul Phonseya, and Bernard Sanders Sr., Bennie Camacho, and numerous aunties and uncles, nieces and nephews.

Those left behind to cherish her memories are her brothers; Ronald Blue Jr. and Patrick Blue, sisters; Susan Daniels, Jacqueline Daniels, Karla Thompson, Rhonda Thompson, and Missie Camacho. Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. A special thank you to her care takers, Tammy Paquette, Abdul, and Amani.

A one-day wake for Lizzy will be held Friday March 14, 2025, at the Gichitwaa Kateri church in Minneapolis, MN., beginning at 12:00 p.m. and continuing until 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025.  A second wake for Lizzy will be at the Veterans Memorial Center in Cass Lake, MN., beginning on Saturday March 15, 2025, starting at 2:00 p.m. and continuing until her service on Sunday March 16, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Dave Yates.  Those helping to lay Lizzy to rest are Larwence Daniels, Noel Cortez, William Thompson Jr., Peter Phonseya, Ronald Sanders, Cordney Wade Lock Jr., Bernard Sanders Jr., and Sean Denny, honorary pallbearers will be all her nieces and nephews.
