Emily Marie Morris

Emily Marie Morris, “Giniwikwe” (Golden Eagle Woman), 6 years old, of Battle Point, Minnesota started her journey to the spirit world from her home on Battle Point on Monday, February 22, 2021.  Emily was born in Bemidji, MN on October 15th, 2014 to Elizabeth Morris and Ronald White, Jr.

Emily was raised in the Cass Lake/Battle Point area.  She enjoyed playing with her Barbies, making V Logs on her mom’s phone, terrorizing her brother Koda and protecting her little brother Sammy.  Emily loved spending time with her best friend and cousin Arielle, spending her grandma Denise’s money and especially loved arguing with her dad. 

Family that welcomes Emily to the spirit world is her maternal grandfather; Samuel Morris, paternal grandmother; Bonnie (Raisch) White, maternal great grandma; Cecelia Drouillard, paternal great grandfather; Benny White, maternal aunties; Katherine Morris and Yvonne Fineday and uncle; Samuel Morris, Jr., paternal auntie; Marilyn Losh, paternal uncles; Kenny and Douglas White, Timmy, Richard and Douglas Losh.

Those Emily leaves behind to cherish her memory are her parents; Elizabeth and Ronald Jr., grandma Denise (Victor) Staples, grandfather Ronald (Rita) White, Sr., great grandmother; Rose “Marie” Losh, brothers; Logan, Douglas, Warrior, Edwin, Hunter, Dakota and Samuel, sisters; Shoshawna, Natasha and Chelsea, uncles; Jacob (Connie) Morris, Ryan, Dustin, Eric, Sheldon and Brandon White and Ray Littlewolf, Jr., aunties; Jennifer Ladue, Serena and Frances Morris, Rhonda, Cheryl and Evening Starr White.

Wake services for Emily will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27th and continue until her 1:00 p.m. traditional service on Monday, March 1st, 2021 to being held at the Battle Point Community Center in Federal Dam, MN.  Tony Jenkins will be her spiritual advisor.  Helping to lay Emily to rest are Jacob Morris, Robert Johnson, Ryan White, Robert Taylor, Darryl Drouillard, Eric White, Thomas Mix and Dustin White, Jr.  Alternate pallbearers are Anthony Antell and Jarret Wind.  Her honorary pallbearers are all her siblings, grandparents, aunties, uncles, other relatives and her friends.  Interment will be in the Battle Point Burial Grounds at Federal Dam, MN following her Monday services.
