Francis Lee Guinn, Sr.

Francis Lee Guinn, Sr., age 73, of Cass Lake, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on Thursday, May 14th, 2026, from his home.  He was born in Cass Lake, Minnesota on Thursday, July 17th, 1952, to Dorothy (Morrow) and Willard Bowstring.

Francis lived life on his own terms, finding joy in the simple routines and the great outdoors.  He was a man who truly loved his job but loved his family even more.  He started everyday just the way he liked – with his coffee and a smoke – before heading out into the world he loved to explore.

An avid outdoorsman, he was happiest when he was hunting, fishing, camping, or simply taking a walk.  He had a passion for travel, exploring all over the country, with the Black Hills holding a particularly special place in his heart.  Whether he was picking boughs in the woods, trying his luck at the casino, or checking his latest lotto tickets, he brought a steady, hardworking, and adventurous spirit to everything he did.

Above all his adventures, his greatest joy was his family.  He treasured his role as a grandfather, and his grandbabies were the absolute light of his life.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family that Francis is reunited with are his son, Shawn; parents, Dorothy and Willard; sisters, Elizabeth and Jacqueline; uncle, George; and in-laws, Rose and Dennis Kise.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his significant other, Palma Kise; his children, Francis (Shannon) Guinn, Jr., Robert Daniels, Joseph (Kari) Guinn, Sr., Elyjah (Ramona) Guinn, Jacqueline (Tommy) Cloud, and Karina (Jacob) Guinn; brothers, Jim and Pete Guinn; sisters, Tracy (Mark) Morrow, Jacquelyn Morrow, and Leslie (Gale) Reese; the mother of his children, Roberta Hamilton; 22 grandchildren, 1 (and one on the way) great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

An overnight wake for Francis will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17th and continue until his 10:00 a.m. traditional services on Monday, May 18th all to be held at the Inger Community Center in Inger, MN.  Pallbearers will be Jacob Isham, Tommy Cloud, Gage Headbird, Marvin Bowstring, Jim Bowstring, and Jared Rabbit.  The alternate pallbearer is Joel Kise.  His honorary pallbearers are all his grandchildren.  Interment will be in the Inger Cemetery following his Monday service.
